HOT WORK PERMIT is a genre-defying rock band forged in London in early 2025, where the firepower of blues, classic rock, and metal collided to form something loud, lean, and unapologetically honest.

Led by guitarist/vocalist Mark Blackmore, the band was born out of a personal mission: to bring decades of unrecorded, unfiltered songwriting to life — no safety nets, no overproduction, just sharp hooks, heavy grooves, and a healthy disrespect for musical conformity.

The four-piece lineup — Blackmore (vocals/guitar), Peter Szilagyi (lead guitar), Jerry Wheeler (bass), and Jesus Gonzalez (drums) — blends hard-hitting rhythm with swaggering riffs and lyrics that cut through modern nonsense with humour and bite.

Think: the grit of ZZ Top, the hooks of T. Rex, and the spirit of a band that’s had enough of playing it safe.

On stage, HOT WORK PERMIT delivers a high-voltage show that leaves scorch marks. Off stage, they’re building a catalogue of songs that channel frustration, contradiction, and rebellion into something anthemic — and undeniably real.

They’re not here to chase trends.
They’re here to burn it down and build something better.
